Planning in NSW is at a cross roads! In 2016, the planning landscape is substantially changing in NSW, with a number of major government ‘reforms’ underway. In response, BPN held a Planning Summit at Parliament House in February 2016, with keynote speakers, Anna Yeatman from the Whitlam Institute and Sidney Luker Award winner, Bob Meyer, talking about the future of planning for Sydney/NSW.
A Panel Discussion followed with guest panelists - Louise Boronyak from the Institute for Sustainable Futures at UTS, Lucy Cole-Edelstein, Director, Straight Talk, Sue Higginson, CEO, EDO NSW, Craig Johnson from Shelter NSW, Architect Philip Thalis and Suzette Meade, President of the North Parramatta Residents Action Group discussing the challenges ahead and talking questions off the floor.
In the room we were also delighted to have 'living legend' Jack Mundey, along with the Minister for Planning, Rob Stokes MP and the Department of Planning Secretary, Carolyn McNeilly, along with senior Department staff.
