Statewide Community Participation Plan

The NSW Government has a draft Statewide Community Participation Plan currently on exhibition. Many of the proposed changes, including public exhibition exemptions for most development applications and short mandated timeframes for exhibition of certain developments, would prevent or severely curtail community input.

Importantly, residential flat buildings, shop-top housing, all new single and two storey dwellings, dual occupancies, secondary dwellings, and a host of other developments WOULD NO LONGER BE EXHIBITED and people CANNOT MAKE SUBMISSIONS ON THEM.

This will apply state wide. It will impact on everyone. It is therefore important that as many people as possible are made aware of this and make submissions to get changes made to this Plan.

BPN has produced a submission guide to help you make submissions, that highlights the significant concerns with the Statewide Community Participation Plan (CPP) and provides information on how to make submissions.

You are most welcome to share this information with your family, friends, neighbours and local community groups.  To make submissions, go to the following link:

Please help us keep planning transparent and accessible to the community by submitting a submission by 3 June.
