This is the second major planning change that is currently on exhibition, for which we are circulating this submission guide.
The NSW Government is proposing a new Complying Development Variations pathway and changes to Complying Development standards. A new “Complying Development Code Variation Certificate” pathway is proposed
The Explanation of Intended Effects says that use of the variations will be monitored to see if in future amendments “need” to be made to the CDC SEPP, not simply allowing variations. In other words, these variations appear to be the starting point for major changes to the SEPP if they’re allowed through.
Better Planning Network believes that a full and rigorous assessment of all developments is essential to ensure that the impact on the community, local amenity and particularly the neighbours is mitigated or minimised and therefore strongly objects to the proposed variations.
Attached is a submission guide to help you make submissions. You can use the dot points as prompts to help you draft your own submission to the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. Please use your own words and give local examples to make your submission count. You don’t have to address every point, just those that you strongly object to (such as the one on Tree “Protections” !!).
